BLEC proved its ‘Global’ credentials by demonstrating machinery at two major shows during the last week of June – one for turf growers in Yorkshire and another for European landscapers in Germany.
At the Turf Growers Association show in Richmond, North Yorkshire, the Blecavator being demonstrated was one of several owned by the farm’s owner Jeff Farnaby.
BLEC sales manager Les Vincent said: “The visitors were all experts in the turf growing industry and one, from Romania, bought a Blecavator from us last year. We dealt with a number of serious inquiries from very experienced machinery users.”
The Blecavator breaks up cultivated soil, buries stones and leaves the surface ready for seeding.
Meanwhile in Eisenach, Germany, at the vast DemoPark exhibition, BLEC managing director Gary Mumby demonstrated a wide range of machinery for landscapers and sportsturf professionals.
Machines included the new BLEC Multivator scarifier, recycler and topdresser, as well as the BLEC Turfmaker Seeder, the Powerbox Raker and the BLEC Laser Grader.
Garry told The Landscaper: “The show was one of the best-attended we have ever been to. On one of the three days there were 7,000 cars in the park, which gives an indication of the huge number of visitors.
“We dealt with a large number of high-quality inquiries and were impressed at the standard of machinery knowledge from visitors to the stand who came from the sportsturf and landscaping industry.”
