2012 apprentice scheme

John O’Conner Ltd., the independent grounds maintenance company responsible for many parks and green spaces across the country, has launched its 2012 national search for five more apprentices.

The scheme will work in association with regional colleges and provide a combination of theory and hands-on work experience in public parks cared for by John O’Conner.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking a worthwhile and satisfying career in horticulture, a growing FM industry sector where specialist skills will always be needed.
Karen Woodward, Divisional Apprenticeship Director, National Apprenticeship Service said: “We need more companies like John O’Conner to provide career apprenticeships. There are thousands of men and women across the UK looking for such opportunities.”
Matt O’Conner, the company’s Managing Director said: “Our profession is one in which anyone with ambition can do well after professional training. We are responding to the government’s request for industry to give opportunities and training to people. This is another opportunity for us to put something back into the communities where we work.”
