New brushcutter

ECHO have introduced the first Hybrid 4 brushcutter into their range, the SRMF-340U.

The SRMF-340U is powered by a latest generation 34cc air cooled Hybrid 4 engine, providing 10,500 maximum rpm. As a result, operators benefit from the high torque and quick throttle response normally reserved for 2-stroke engines, but with the added benefit of low engine noise, up to 33per cent better fuel economy, and extremely low levels of exhaust emission.

The new SRMF-340U operates on a 50:1 oil/fuel mix, so there is no separate oil tank to worry about, and the engines rotary valve carburettor allows the brushcutter to operate in all positions, thanks to its exceptional throttle response and greater torque over a broader rpm range. The chrome plated cylinder and two ring pistons provide tremendous durability and long engine life, and will run up to 33per cent longer than comparable 2-stroke engines on a single tank of petrol.

ECHO anti-vibration systems have resulted in operating vibration levels of just 9.7m/s², and with and overall weight of just 6.9 kg, safe operating times have been considerably extended. Equipped with 2 string nylon line cutter head, 3T blade and ergonomic full harness, the new SRMF-340U is available March 2009 from all ECHO authorised retailers at an SRP of £459 + Vat .
