Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles sold more vans at retail in 2011 than any other manufacturer, according to figures released today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
The Luton-based manufacturer sold 11,436 vans to small businesses last year with sales up 28.05 per cent in a market up 8.32 per cent. Vauxhall topped the monthly sales charts in January, March, April, July, September and October.
It is the first time in the company’s history that it has finished top at retail on commercial vehicles over a calendar year. Year end retail CV market share of 16.35 per cent was also an all-time record.
The Luton-built Vivaro was the best selling van in the retail medium van segment with sales up 58.05 per cent year-on-year.
Vauxhall’s van sales were buoyed by the offer of four years’ zero per cent APR finance, four years’ free servicing, a four year warranty and four years’ AA cover.
“Last year proved to be an excellent year for Vauxhall van sales,” Richard Collier, Vauxhall’s National Commercial Vehicles Sales Manager told The Landscaper. . “It’s fantastic news for Vauxhall that despite the uncertain economic outlook there’s still strong demand for fuel efficient, high quality vans with low running costs and excellent manufacturer support.”
The latest edition to the multi award-winning Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles range, the all-new Combo, is due next month.
