Children’s Right to play……API

The API has become a partner of the Right Year for Children (RY4C) campaign to support children’s right to play. RY4C will be active throughout 2012, backed-up by the Children’s Commissioner, Maggie Atkinson, in calling for greater consideration of the UNCRC in government decision-making.
John Croasdale, Chairman of the Association of Play Industries (API), said: “We support the Right Year for Children campaign in its goal to implement the UN convention on children’s rights into UK law. This can only help to raise greater consideration for play in government decision-making, as well as giving children a stronger voice on their right to play.”
The Association of Play Industries (API) is the lead trade body within the play sector, representing the interests of the manufacturers, installers, designers and distributors of both outdoor and indoor play equipment and safer surfacing. Founded in 1984 it represents approximately 85% of the market with more than 80 members.
