Vibrant spring bulbs, blossom and a wide selection of flowering plants will be on show at the Writtle College Garden Open Day on Sunday 15 March 2009, 10am – 4pm.
The opening is part of the National Gardens Scheme, a charitable trust which provides financial support to a wide range of charitable institutions. A mapped walk will be available and visitors will have the chance to speak with Writtle College Horticultural staff and members of the Neighbourhood Gardeners Scheme, who will be on hand to answer gardening queries.
The Writz restaurant on campus will be open for traditional Sunday lunches, with a full roast meal and other light snacks on the menu. The Essex Suite conference facilities will also be open for bookings and viewings, located adjacent to the Writz restaurant.
Alternative refreshments will be available from the Writtle Tea Rooms and plants will be on sale in the Writtle College Garden Centre.
The Garden Open Day takes place at Writtle College, Lordship Road, Chelmsford, Essex, CM1 3RR, and will run from 10am – 4pm. Entry will be £3.50, with Children entering free. Proceeds from admission will go towards the National Garden Scheme.
