Makita has added small, Lithium-ion powered cordless chainsaws to the range of professional power tools. These chainsaws are designed to provide construction professionals with a lightweight and highly manoeuvrable saw for on-site operations. Where a carpenter has to cut a substantial quantity of four-inch joists the new Makita BUC122 chainsaw will save time and effort and improve accuracy and efficiency. These versatile cordless chainsaws will also prove a boon in ground care operations for light pruning where the operation of a petrol or mains powered saw is not practical.

The BUC122Z 18volt chainsaw has a maximum cutting width of 115mm (4.5 inches) and with a high 5 metres/second chain speed is efficient and effortless in operation. The saw weighs just 2.5kg and using the low weight, long lasting Lithium-ion battery technology, can be recharged in around 22 minutes. Chain speed of the BUC121Z 14.4v version is slightly slower at 4.8m/s.
