Digital Campus…Donaldson Edwards Partnership..Chris Podmore.

Manchester city centre based landscape architects, Donaldson Edwards Partnership (DEP), has completed a major external landscape project at the new £110m Digital Campus in Sheffield city centre.
Sheffield Digital Campus is one of the most technologically advanced business sites in Europe. With the capacity for up to 600,000 square feet of modern office space it will help establish Sheffield as a leading hub for IT and digital businesses.
The project began in November 2007 with final completion of the external works, worth some £1.2m, completed last month by DEP working alongside Leeds-based GMI Construction and Carey Jones Architects.
The client brief was to provide an impressive landscaping scheme with the urban office space that captures both the strong character of this famous industrial city and the innovative aspirations of the new Campus.
Associate landscape consultant, Chris Podmore, who oversaw the DEP project, commented: “Our external landscape works sought to achieve a high quality environment and an ecologically diverse site which features many native species and ecological elements including bug boxes, Cowslip Meadow and even a wetland area”
