Added value……..Glee 2011

Glee has unveiled initial details of this year’s visitor attractions, which are set to make this year’s show the strongest ever.
As well as meeting the industry’s leading brands from across six core product sectors in one convenient location, visitors to Glee will be able to take advantage of Glee’s key themes – Inspiration, Innovation and Education. Added to this, the show’s extensive content will also provide expert insight, staff training opportunities and practical visitor planning functionality through Glee’s dedicated buyer’s trails.
Nick Davison, Glee event director told The Landscaper : “We want Glee’s content to add real value for everyone attending. This year we have worked hard to revise our offering, ensuring it’s more relevant and hard working than ever before. But more than this we don’t want our content to detract from the main aim of Glee – to bring suppliers and buyers together – instead we want our content to provide targeted, market driven inspiration and education, enabling visitors to come away from the show feeling that they have learnt something useful.”
Linking with Garden Trade News’ Greatest Awards, this year Glee will play host to the shortlisted ‘greatest merchandising’ teams, where each team they’ll be tasked with creating an eye-catching and inspirational merchandising display. Each team will be given the same products and space, and will be pitted against the clock to create eye-catching displays. The Greatest Award judges will then select the overall winner, awarding the prize on Wednesday 21st September.
Glee’s very own Dragons Den-inspired showcase, the Garden Angels will see a series of business thinkers put forward their pitch for their product and business case. Taking place in three, one hour sessions across each day of the show, the Garden Angels will be made up of a panel of industry leaders including Gardman’s Paris Natar and Sue Allen, former MD of The Millbrook Garden Company. They will be joined by a guest Angel each day, and will be led by Gardenforum.co.uk’s George Bullivant.
Hundreds of new products are set to launch at Glee this year. To make navigating them that bit easier, they will once again be collected in the Glee New Products areas. A dedicated stand will provide buyers with a whistle-stop tour of the newest innovations on the market. The products featured will also be entered into Glee’s New Product Awards, where industry experts will select the next big thing across a range of categories.
