United front on smarter irrigation

Turf irrigation know-how unites on stand 550 as KAR UK and Hunter Irrigation team up to help visitors relieve the mounting pressure of water management and system efficiency to explore smarter, more sustainable irrigation solutions via Hunter’s Pilot network control system and TTS-800 golf rotors.
Alongside Pilot, the TTS-800 Series is tuned to golf course performance, “blending durability with water-efficient irrigation”. Built around the Total-Top-Service (TTS) design, the rotors enable every internal component to be accessed from above ground “to dramatically reduce maintenance time, eliminate unnecessary digging and keep surfaces playable and presentable”.
From an irrigation standpoint, the rotors deliver “uniform water distribution, impressive throw performance and highly efficient nozzle options that help clubs achieve the same turf quality with less water applied”. For courses upgrading older or inconsistent irrigation heads, the rotors “offer a step change in reliability and water savings”.

Smarter control”
Hunter’s Pilot Network Control System is built around the idea that the best irrigation technology should make life easier, not more complicated. From installation to day-to-day operation, the system is made to “provide maximum reliability with minimum fuss”.
Courses can choose between conventional or integrated hub configurations, allowing the system to be built around existing infrastructure or deployed as a modern, centralised control network. Hardware can work independently or be linked seamlessly into the Central Control Software (CCS), so clubs can upgrade at their own pace.
The CCS balances irrigation run times with water and electrical supply to optimise cycles – increasingly important in cutting costs, saving water and remaining environmentally responsible. For periods when precision takes priority over pump-station efficiency, such as grow-in or overseeding, the controller-based programming provides “simple, localised control”.
The Pilot Navigator mobile app puts the Command Centre software directly into a smartphone to allow greenkeepers to make quick adjustments, trigger irrigation and manage key settings remotely and intuitively.
With customisable features and real-time visibility, it “saves time, conserves water and lets greenkeepers stay in control of their course – on site, on the move, or responding to changing conditions.
