Mini health check for visitors to the Landscape Show

A mini health check is available to all visitors to Perennial’s interactive health kiosk at the Landscape Show at Battersea Park this September. This is part of the charity’s aim to promote the wellbeing of everyone in the landscape industry. In addition Perennial’s stand at the event will show the many ways in which the charity helps people in horticulture with all aspects of their financial, physical and mental health.

The health kiosk, supplied by employee health specialists Wellbeing People, offers a quick five-minute health MOT, which includes blood pressure, heart rate, body fat content and BMI, providing indicators of the user’s current health status. It delivers immediate and confidential results and can be a useful early warning system for potential health problems such as high blood pressure. The Perennial team will also be on hand to speak to visitors, with hints and tips on living healthier lifestyles and information on how Perennial can help.

Healthier futures for those in the industry

Julia Hayne, Director of Services at Perennial comments on the mini health check focus.

“We are here to help people in horticulture build better, healthier futures and a key part of that is encouraging people to look after their own wellbeing. The health kiosk at the show gives people a snapshot of their current health status so that they can be aware if they need to make positive changes for the future, which in turn can prevent the likelihood of them developing more serious health issues in the future. We are looking forward to speaking to visitors about the many ways we can support them and their families.”

Perennial will also be hosting a CPD accredited seminar at the Landscape Show on the topic of wellbeing at 10.30am on Tuesday 17th September. Diet, exercise, stress management and financial health are all important factors when it comes to looking after your wellbeing, but what happens when things go wrong? Perennial’s Helen Waddington will look at the many challenges people face and how Perennial can help them.
