Knoll Gardens has collected its tenth successive Gold Medal for ornamental grasses .
This year’s win is the latest in an unbroken series of Gold Medal’s going back to 2002 for Knoll’s owner, Neil Lucas, and provided a further opportunity for him to shine the spotlight on ornamental grasses, and their place at the forefront of a sustainable approach to gardening.
Visitors to the exhibit were particularly impressed with the range of Hakonechloas in the display, with the broad, creamy white and green striped leaves of the new Hakonechloa Samurai attracting particular attention.
The Gold Medal is an auspicious start to a gardening year which will find Neil out and about across the country, lecturing and signing copies of his new book ‘Designing Ornamental Grasses’.
