Four Oaks and much of the UK horticulture industry is mourning the sudden and tragic loss of Marlon Kent, the highly respected manager of Four Oaks Cash & Carry, who passed away on 3 November 2026 at the age of 53.

Marlon dedicated much of his life to the commercial horticulture sector. Joining Four Oaks at just 18 years of age, he was a driving force behind the growth and success of the cash and carry business, becoming one of the most trusted and cherished figures within the trade community.
A Lifetime of Dedication to the Trade
His extraordinary hard work, loyalty, and passion transformed the plant display and trade operations at Four Oaks over more than three decades. Beyond his professional drive, Marlon was renowned for his ability to build genuine, lasting relationships across the supply chain with countless regular landscapers, nursery suppliers, trade show exhibitors and visitors.
A Lasting Professional Legacy
Marlon was far more than an integral part of a successful trade supplier; he was woven into the very heart and soul of the Four Oaks business. His warm personality, kind character, and brilliant dry sense of humour made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to work alongside him.
While his immense contribution to the expansion of Four Oaks leaves an indelible mark on the business and the wider horticultural trade, it is his warmth as an individual and the countless lives he touched that will be remembered most.
The Landscaper extends its deepest condolences and heartfelt thoughts to Marlon’s family, his friends, and all of his colleagues at Four Oaks during this incredibly difficult time.
