The new Wessex FRX-150H hydraulic Out-Front Flail Mower has been specifically developed in conjunction with Stiga & Ransomes Jacobsen exclusively for their hydraulic power units.
This is a mower that is quiet, smooth and highly manoeuvrable. Outfront mowers have many advantages over rear mounted, providing the operator with comfort and visibility coupled with the ability to move around in confined areas, negotiating road signs on grass verges, trees and other obstacles.
While it deals effectively with longer grass on verges it transforms into a premium cutting machine on sports and amenity turf, working at high speed without the grass swathing associated with rotary mowers.
The FRX-150H follows ground contours accurately with its own wheels and a full width rear roller. Aerodynamic flails produce maximum power efficiency while a heavy-duty 305mm rotor shaft ensures durability and long life.
The deck provides a working width of 1.5m and setting the cutting height is simply achieved by repositioning the front wheels and rear roller. There is a simple lever mechanism to ensure the roller is set at the same height on both sides, while the roller itself is fitted with integral bearings for a long life. There are also replaceable end caps and spigot shafts for reduced service costs.
