Tracmaster offers 18 BCS machines and 24 implements in total, from Bank Commanders, mowers and power scythes to scarifiers, rotavators and snow-clearing equipment. “Our aim was originally to sell two-wheel tractors into horticultural outlets and our first customer was Brighton Council, whom we still supply,” explains director, Alex Pitt, “but we soon diversified into supplying hire companies and then conservation organisations. Our snow-clearing equipment has been very successful too – and is widely used by local schools, hospitals and at Gatwick Airport.”
Growth in Manufacturing
The company currently design and manufacture five key products from their own-brand CAMON, including the scarifier, aerator, turf cutter, rotavator and wood chipper, and in the past 12 months manufacturing output has risen by an impressive 82%. Tracmaster has plans to increase the number of products it designs and manufactures in-house too; this allows the company to offer a very high-quality of build and innovation, plus control over the production process. As a result of the surge in demand for these products, Tracmaster has increased its production capabilities by expanding its workshop space and has recruited more skilled staff.
“Innovation is crucial,” explains Pitt. “Our business will grow from constantly communicating with our existing customers and establishing from them what style or type of machines they would like us to improve and supply them with. If our customers have a need, we must be receptive and respond to it.”
