performs the Official Opening of the new workshop with lecturers and students from
Wiltshire College Lackham.
A new workshop has been officially opened at Wiltshire College Lackham, the 600 acre estate in Wiltshire that guides more than 800 students each year through their land based studies.
The workshop will be used by students across a range of courses but
particularly Forestry and Arboriculture. The workshop has been outfitted for
students to learn how to use power tools such as chainsaws.
The workshop was opened by Martin Whitlock, Area Sales Manager for Stihl.
Martin is an ex-student and completed a National Diploma and HNC in
Agricultural Engineering in the 1980s.
He said “As an ex-student it’s nice to be in a position to do something beneficial to the College. This is an excellent new facility. ” Stihl have a positive ongoing relationship with the College and have
generously donated chainsaw boots and protective clothing to students as well as training and safety manuals and DVDs. After the workshop opening, Wiltshire College students were able to try out some of Stihl’s new products for themselves and were invited to give feedback.
