KYMCO has launched it’sfirst side-by-side utility machine. The UXV500 features a 4-stroke single cylinder liquid cooled engine mated to an automatic (CVT) transmission system, delivering 36 bhp at 6500rpm. The multi-purpose machine transfers its power to the ground through the CVT, using a dependable, low-maintenance shaft drive in conjunction with a front differential, which can be locked to maximise traction on adverse terrain.
The UXV500 also benefits from an integrated Chassis, selectable 2wd-4wd function, an automatic high/low ratio gearbox with reverse gear, 4-wheel independent long travel suspension (190mm) with torque balance rods and efficient disc brakes to provide ample stopping power. In addition, the engine has been centrally mounted for balance and stability, and the low-pressure tyres with 12” rims will also assist with traction and heavy loading.
With the same rack and pinion steering system as a car, KYMCO has also designed the UXV500 for driver comfort and usability. The cab features side-by-side independent seats with head restraints and safety belts, plenty of storage capacity, a 12-volt water proof socket, automotive-type controls and a digital LCD display that shows all necessary data including speed, the 2wd-4wd status, gear position, engine temperature, odometer and a fuel gauge. The UXV500 also has a high capacity steel fuel tank (32 litres) affording the driver the option of long-term use of the vehicle between re-fills. Added safety design features include a robust reinforced cab and beam chassis, extended wheel arches, a front bumper for impact protection, steering lock and an engine braking system.
