Rugged petrol generators

Makita has introduced a four-model range of rugged petrol generators for off-site power operations. These reliable and durable generators are powered by a heavy duty OHV 4-stroke engine that fully complies with Euro 2 exhaust emissions. They are mounted in a robust tubular steel carry frame with the two highest output models also being fitted with transport wheels and handles for easy site movement.
The engines are protected by an oil system sensor that shuts down the motor if the oil level is too low. A power generating lamp indicates operation, and twin current and voltage metres are mounted conveniently on the top of the frame. All models provide two 240v AC outlet sockets and a single 12v DC output socket.
The new EG2250A and EG2850A generators have a 15 litre capacity fuel tank and are powered by the 210cc version of the OHV engine with pull-cord recoil starter. The base model will generate maximum AC output of 2.2kVA at 50Hz with the EG2850A delivering 2.8kVA. Weight is 49.8kg and 52.8kg respectively with overall dimensions of 600 x 442 x 450mm.
The EG4550A and EG5550A models have 25-litre fuel tanks and feature the 420cc engine with both recoil and electric start. Power produced is 4.5kVA and 5.5kVA with weights of 95.5kg and 98.5kg respectively. The overall dimensions are 680mm x 550mm x 550mm. These quieter running generators will provide long term power sources for all location operations.
