Innovators Zone…Glee 009

Glee’s new Innovators Zone will make it possible for entrepreneurs to showcase their garden inventions to prospective contacts at low cost.
Designed to help nurture valuable grass-roots product development and one-off design ideas, the scheme has already attracted several participants. It will be exclusively available to small-scale manufacturers and those with prototype or pre-entry level designs. For just £500, entrepreneurs will receive a ready-to-use 4m² shell-scheme booth, a high profile location within the show, plus ongoing marketing support from Glee’s marketing and PR teams in the lead up to and during the exhibition.
The aim, confirmed Glee show director, Daniel Thurlow, is to bridge the gap between market-ready new product launches from established companies – such as those often entered for the show’s annual Glee New Product Awards – and pre-commercial product ideas.
Innovators Zone participants confirmed so far include:
• Higrow – a family run business based in Yorkshire, Higrow specialise in growing products for small spaces such as balconies, patios and yards
• Pebblecubes – essentially wire mesh cubes filled with pebbles, Welsh slate or glass nuggets, Pebblecubes can house anything from a tealight to a huge flowerpot. Reminiscent of gabions, Pebblecubes are real sculptural art forms for the garden
• GardenGirl – a stylish range of Ladies Gardening clothing. Designed specifically for the female body, GardenGirl clothing combines functionality with design and durability for a better gardening experience.
