Hard Landscaping Show

The first ever Hard Landscaping Show, held at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry was a success. Over 800 visitors came to see exhibitors from all over the UK. The Landscaper thoroughly enjoyed an extended stay at the event, and yet again met many familiar and new faces at our stand. David Curtis and Ray Ibrahim took to the show floor to talk with a selection of exhibitors…

Mark Channen told The Landscaper, “We offer a comprehensive range of Grass & Ground Reinforcement, for grass that is prone to rutting, damage and smearing.
We also offer temporary ground and grass protection, tree root protection and Safety Rubber Matting for playground safety surfaces and access routes.
We were a little disappointed with the attendance numbers but felt that the quality of visitors was excellent. It was the show’s first year so it was not a bad effort at all – we are considering taking a stand next year as we think it will grow into much bigger show.”

NCC Streetscape

NCC exhibited their range of paving jointing mortars for all types of natural stone and concrete paving. This included products designed specifically for use on different paving areas such as garden patios and pathways, driveways, car parks, street works, pavements, highways, paving around commercial developments and paving in historic town centres and market squares.
These GftK jointing materials are easily applied standing up as slurries: they are designed to be non-staining, self compacting and many can be applied and cure without difficulty in the rain.
NCC Streetscape used their dedicated demonstration area to show the application of these mortars, to which many of the visiting Landscape Contractors responded positively and showed a great deal of interest – with orders actually being received during the show and further enquiries coming in every day since.
“The potential for the organisers to attract even more interest and attendance from a wider hard landscaping audience, including more Local Authorities, Highways Engineers, Commercial Developers and others to the mutual benefit of everybody was clear, so after a good effort for an inaugural show, this looks set to be an even more successful event next year”, said David MacKay, Managing Director of NCC Streetscape Ltd.
NCC Streetscape also have a full range of highly cost effective and efficient Paving Cleaners and Paving Sealers.

Sarah Rose, Marketing Manager says “Instarmac was more than pleased to see the emergence of an exhibition devoted to paving, and in particular for our ULTRASCAPE mortar paving system, to hard landscaping. The show proved the perfect vehicle for the launch of our new ready to use jointing compound, PAVEJOINT, where we gathered a number of quality leads and enquiries, and even took some orders. Exhibitions feature heavily in our marketing strategy, as they provide the ultimate direct route to launch new products, network with our customer base and promote our brand – which the Hard Landscaping Show more than helped us achieve. Let’s hope that we can attract more exhibitors to the next World of Paving instalment and build a truly niche paving exhibition for the hard landscaping sector.”
