Ferris® introduces the 400S® light duty commercial zero-turn mower that uses unique mowing technology to provide commercial cutters with superior performance, quality and comfort. Featuring the patented suspension technology, heavy-duty Hydro-Gear® Commercial ZT-3100 Drive System, and speeds up to 13 km/h, the 400S® is capable of tackling tight places, providing maximum manoeuvrability and productivity.
The patented suspension system with adjustable coil-over-shocks at the rear wheels, and a motion dampening, fabricated pivoting axle with shock absorbers at the front, offers superior operator comfort and increased mowing productivity. The patented suspension system responds to the most unforgiving terrain with refined control and incomparable steering accuracy. It allows the operator to maintain ground speed on rough underground without slowing down, taking full advantage of the available horsepower resulting in more covered square meters per hour and lower operational costs. Additionally, a Ferris zero-turn mower has no limitations on the daily allowable exposure with regards to hand/arm and whole-body vibrations (HAV’s and WBV’s).
Powered by a Briggs & Stratton® Commercial Series V-twin petrol engine (23 Gross HP per SAE J1940), the power source runs quietly and smoothly, is cost efficient and especially clean, thanks to the purpose-designed, 5 Step Cyclonic Air Filtration that allows a 250-hours air filter change. The engine is backed with a two-year commercial warranty.
The all new (patent pending), all-in-one mower deck hosts a unique versatility, setting the 400S® zero-turn mower apart from the competition. The fabricated mower deck with a cutting width of 122cm (48”) addresses multiple differences across Europe when it comes to keeping tall grass short. Rear discharging, side discharging and mulching are coming as an integrated standard. and the all-in-one mower deck offers two different mulching modes.
Other features include a foot-operated mower deck lift, a premium high-back adjustable seat with padded arm rests, large, rotational moulded 21 litre fuel tank, large 20×10.00-10 drive tires for superb traction, and a fabricated tubular steel bumper to protect the engine compartment.
