Mulching for green

Mountfield has been a number one UK brand for over 50 years and has not seen a heatwave summer like the one we have been having for a long time… how is the best way to get lawn into top shape?
Grass is very strong and goes to sleep in extreme heat and then wakes up, but when it starts growing again a bit of help in the way of mulch is useful.
Mulching grass saves time and can be more than 30% quicker than conventional methods as there is no stopping work to drive to the tip to empty the collector; this also results in a significant fuel saving. Mulching grass allows the clippings to be recycled, improving the soil as they decompose forming a natural fertiliser high in potash and nitrogen.
There is a marked improvement in grass as this fertiliser takes effect over the course of the cutting season. You may well ask: “Will I see the mulched grass?” and the answer is “No!”  Mulched clippings are blown down into the turf and are not noticeable provided the grass is cut regularly and not on the lowest setting.
