A bugs week……National Insect Week..June 25 to July 1

Organised every two years by The Royal Entomological Society, NATIONAL INSECT WEEK aims to promote awareness of the importance to the environment of a diverse insect world.
This year the Society has drawn inspiration from celebrations surrounding the Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee of its patron, HRH The Queen, to give the event a Great British Insects theme.
Through a high profile launch and a nationwide programme of interactive fun events and activities for all the family, National Insect Week will bring the insect world to life.
The sponsorship from Lafarge Aggregates & Concrete UK (LACUK) has enabled the Society to put many of these plans into place and as part of its support the firm will also be organising various events at its quarry and production sites across the UK.
