Growth in Operating Profit

Notcutts, the UK’s largest family owned garden centre group, has today announced operating profit for the 12 months to February 2016 of £1.29m vs £1.08m prior year –  a 20% increase. Turnover increased by 6.3% in the year.
The company strategy is to invest in redeveloping its garden centres to provide a differentiated customer experience. The redevelopment of Wheatcroft garden centre in Nottingham and the internal redevelopment of Woodford Park garden centre in Cheshire were completed in April 2015 and October 2015 respectively.
Nicky Dulieu, Chairman of Notcutts, told The Landscaper,  “We are clearly pleased with our financial performance for last year which demonstrates the success of our customer service and improved product offerings as well as the investments already made.  Our newly developed centres continue to prove really popular with our customers and this has reinforced our strategy to redevelop our garden centres over the next 5 years.”
