Floating beer garden

Johnsons of Whixley has been chosen to supply over 700 varieties for a unique floating beer garden display for a famous Belgian beer brand.

Johnsons of Whixley was selected by DHB Group, a promotional equipment solutions brand based in Oxford, for its high-quality plants to use on the beer boat garden display which has been designed to open minds to new ideas, sounds, sights and tastes in the midst of busy urban life.

Described as a ‘a voyage of sensory discovery on East London’s canals’, the floating garden which is now open to the public, will be docked in the East End, at Hackney Wick’s Number 90 Bar & Kitchen during the week. It will then set sail on the canals of the city on the weekends, from 30 July through to 21 August, serving beer and canapés.

The boat is 18 metres long by almost three metres wide and features £5,000 worth of plants from Johnsons, including ivy hedging screens, shrubs and perennials.
