Sam Colman, Sales Manager for British Sugar TOPSOIL, demonstrated a flair for go-kart racing when he won the BALI East Anglia Region ‘Beast in the East’ go-kart challenge recently as part of the British Sugar TOPSOIL/Oak View Landscapes team. British Sugar TOPSOIL was one of several BALI Affiliate (supplier member) sponsors of this annual event, which this year attracted over 40 teams and took place at the Wild Tracks circuit, Newmarket.
The ‘Beast in the East’ is gaining something of a reputation in the BALI events calendar, not only for how seriously the competing teams take the competition but also for the fantastic networking that takes place before, during and after the racing. The event this year saw the British Sugar TOPSOIL team of Sam Colman and David Daniels share the top spot on the podium with Michael and Daron Eills from Colchester-based BALI contractor Oak View Landscapes.
Speaking after the event, when the winning team was presented with the coveted ‘Beast in the East’ winner’s shovel, Sam said: “This is a terrific event that brings in members from BALI East Anglia Region and further afield and the competition is fierce. From British Sugar TOPSOIL’s perspective it’s an opportunity for us to sponsor another great BALI event and support our customers, many of whom are BALI contractors and designers.
