Forty-five holes, 300 acres and five Kubota RTVs – numbers that add up to smooth running for Blairgowrie Golf Club in its mission to move people and materials where and when it needs to.
Delivering “rugged, reliable” logistics for more than fours years at the Perthshire Championship site, the RTVX-1110’s work alongside six Kubota compacts tractors to keep maintenance “on course”.

Since its formation in 1889, the club has grown from 9 holes (the ‘wee course’) to adding two 18-hole courses – the Rosemount and Lansdowne – which have played host to many national championships for Scottish Golf, European Golf Association, DP World Tour and the R&A, often featuring in Scotland’s Top 100 rankings and contributing to the high expectations of the 1,800 members.
“Key to operations”
Kubota equipment was key to operations, said managing secretary Stuart Wilson. “The six compact tractors, ranging from the smallest B2261 up to the biggest, 74 hp M7060, are used daily for all elements of maintenance. Whether towing implements such as mowers or seeders or assisting with winter construction projects, they are a reliable source of power and performance.
“The RTV-X1110’s, installed and maintained by HRN Tractors, are robust vehicles suited to the terrain of our courses and mean we can traverse our sizeable site in good time,” he added.
Hydrostatic transmission and “outstanding” build quality combined “power, practicality and comfort”.

The high payload let the team move tools and materials around quickly and efficiently, “significantly improving our productivity. The hydraulic tip feature on the RTVs allows heavier or awkward loads to be dropped off quickly and safely”.
Stuart concluded: “Compared to other utility vehicles, our mechanic finds the RTV’s easy to work on. Having said that, other than the routine service checks, there’s been very little he’s had to do with them as we’ve had no major issues to report in the four years we’ve had them.”
