CONTINUES TO BLOOM

Pictorial Meadows, supplier of  meadow seed mixes and related products, is delighted to be continuing its partnership with Prof. Nigel Dunnett at the Trentham Estate in Staffordshire for a third year.   Following the  success of the seeded meadow areas over the past two years, 2017 will see Pictorial Meadows products used even more widely across the site.
The existing areas of meadows will be retained and expanded significantly, and new meadow areas will be created.   Furthermore, the Pictorial Meadows team will be introducing more products  For the first time, the estate will be using grown-to-order PM Turf, which is pre-grown to deliver an instant, flower rich established, sustainable perennial meadow. This will be featured along the side of Trenthams historic lake which was created by Capability Brown, creating a meadow bank, and the turf will also be used on the roundabout at the main entrance to Trentham. Over 700 sqmt of the Turf in PM’s Treasure Chest mix will be laid in A/W 2016 to be ready for next year’s growing season to flower in spring 2017.
The involvement of Pictorial Meadows at Trentham is the result of an on-going partnership between the company, Michael Walker and the Estate Team at Trentham who are developing an overall strategy for the gardens, and Prof. Nigel Dunnett who is designing and specifying the current new gardens and landscape developments.  As part of this, Pictorial Meadows has been commissioned to grow 8,000 plants for the North and South entrances, Lakeside café and boathouse entrance, and will be installed as part of Prof. Dunnett’s new plantings, alongside 16,000 sqmt of annual meadow sowings using PM’s Classic Mix which will flower next year.
Dan Cornwell, Pictorial Meadows’ Operations Director, said: “Trentham is such a breath-taking estate and we are really thrilled to be continuing the great work we have delivered there for the last two years, which not only includes supply of meadow seeds, but also a bespoke contracting and installation service.  In this time we have gotten to know the Estates team very well and our partnership approach and combined experience has helped us to achieve the hugely successful sowing and establishment of the meadows, and which have delivered an amazing visitor response.    We can’t wait to build upon what we have already achieved, and are looking forward to introducing our new products and seeing them flourish, flower and bloom in 2017.”
Michael Walker from Trentham Estate commented; “The immediate results achieved with Pictorial Meadows seeded annual meadows immediately engaged visitors as an immediate impression of Nigel Dunnetts new plantings.  We are now preparing for our third year with the expansion of both the annual and perennial plantings which will include vast perennial plantings and the introduction of PM Turf”
Professor Nigel Dunnett, concluded; “I created and founded the company Pictorial Meadows, and formulated the original meadow seed mixes with the aim of creating beautiful, very long-flowering, and fail-safe meadow mixes.  The use of these Pictorial Meadows seed mixes at Trentham has exceeded all expectations.  Most importantly, the wide-ranging experience of the Pictorial Meadows team in delivering fully reliable and dependable meadow landscapes has contributed immeasurably to this success.  2017 promises to be even better”.
