Bradford New park…..Saturday, 24 March

The date for the official launch event at City Park has been revealed – Saturday, 24 March.
The park is due to open to the public in January when construction is expected to be completed, except some work on the Pavilion building.
Plans for the rest of the 2012 City Park calendar are still being finalised but the site will be used as a focal point for national events, including the Olympic Games, as well as local diary dates, such as the Lord Mayor’s Parade and St George’s Day commemorations.
City Park contains a 4,000sq ft mirror pool and 100 fountains, including 40 low-powered fountains for children’s enjoyment.
It features a 100ft central fountain, the tallest in any UK city, and has been designed to create a vibrant public space for people of all ages to enjoy with areas for rest, relaxation and play.
