Christina Walker Appointed Publisher Of The Landscaper

Christina began her career in publishing, working with respected titles including The Engineer and New Scientist, before moving into the exhibition sector. She spent a total of 17 years working on the renowned Four Oaks Trade Show, where she worked alongside the late Pat Coutts and went on to lead the show’s successful post-pandemic editions.

More recently, Christina spent almost three years with HortWeek, where she was instrumental in developing new partnerships across the horticulture and landscape industries. She also led the industry’s collaborative presence at New Scientist Live, bringing together organisations from across the sector, to showcase careers and innovation.

Her appointment comes at an exciting time for The Landscaper following its acquisition by GroundsFest organisers Purple Ash Media earlier this year. Since then, the brand has experienced significant growth, with its audience increasing four-fold through investment in print, digital publishing and social media channels.

As Publisher, Christina will oversee the commercial development of the title while working closely with Editor Greg Rhodes and Digital Editor Paul O’Grady to help shape the next phase of the magazine’s evolution.

Christina said:

“I’m delighted to take on the role of Publisher of The Landscaper magazine – a brand with a strong 25-year history and an exciting future.

“The title has already seen a four-fold increase in its audience following the purchase by GroundsFest organisers earlier this year and development of its digital publishing channels.

We’re currently working on enhancing editorial strategy and a magazine redesign to reflect our strong commitment to providing essential, high-quality information to professional readers across the landscape sectors.

“I’ll be bringing my energy, experience and ideas to develop relationships, opportunities and new products for The Landscaper, working closely with the rest of the team.”
