The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (RBG Kew) is the latest to announce its participation in a major industry collaboration at New Scientist Live 2026, one of the UK’s leading science and technology festivals.
The initiative aims to engage the public with the vital role of horticulture and inspire the next generation to explore careers across the sector.
Bringing together leading organisations from across horticulture and landscaping, the collaboration will deliver an interactive and immersive experience designed to showcase the science, innovation, and STEM career opportunities within the industry. Kew will contribute its world-renowned expertise in plant science, conservation, and education to help highlight how horticulture underpins solutions to some of the planet’s biggest challenges, including climate change, biodiversity loss, and food security.
Visitors to New Scientist Live will have the opportunity to engage directly with Kew scientists and horticulturists through hands-on activities and live demonstrations. The collaborative space will focus on making plant science accessible, relevant, and exciting—particularly for young people considering future study and career pathways.
