British Hardwood Tree Nursery has secured a £30,000 grant that will be invested in warehousing, a new computer system and bespoke software at its Snitterby base.
British Hardwood Tree Nursery MD Andrew Henderson (pictured above) told the The Landscaper “We’re delighted that we have secured this Micro Enterprise Development grant that will help us to grow a sustainable business and create new jobs for two people.
It’s particularly appropriate that the timing of the funding coincides with the publication of the Forestry Panel Report that highlights the need for more trees and woodland for the benefit of the environment, our economy and our health.”
The new 3600 ft2 warehouse and the software and computer system upgrades will be completed ahead of the busy bare root season when the team of nine will distribute over one million trees and hedging plants throughout the UK.
