Hardstanding areas

TDP, the specialist in fibre technology for building and landscaping, has been appointed UK distributor for Netlon Turfguard, an extruded polyethylene mesh which provides a cost-effective solution for the protection and reinforcement of grass and turf.

The new distribution agreement is a major benefit to the landscape and amenity management sector, as it means that Netlon Turfguard is now widely available across the UK with full technical backup provided by TDP.

It also means that TDP now offers a one-stop solution for the new planning legislation for hardstanding areas of more than 5m² which now require planning consent and the use of a porous surface. Using Netlon Turfguard offers a real advantage as it provides a porous hardwearing parking surface which avoids the need to apply for planning consent, as turfed areas are not classed as hardstanding.

For those projects incorporating a driveway or patio which will require planning consent, another porous paving solution offered by TDP is DuPont Ground Grid, a flexible geotextile grid, which is suitable for use with aggregate, stone, gravel or turf. The three-dimensional grid provides a stable surface for areas used by pedestrians and traffic and is also an effective drainage solution. The loose infill material, and the porosity value of the geotextile walls allow water penetration both vertically and horizontally, making DuPont Ground Grid the ideal choice for Sustainable Drainage Systems

Rob Barlow, managing director of TDP says, “We are delighted to add this product to our portfolio and look forward to raising the profile of Netlon Turfguard and its many benefits to the landscaping sector.
“We will be able to use our extensive knowledge of the landscaping market to help both new and existing customers benefit from this innovative solution.”
