The RHS announced the 2011 recipients of its prestigious awards for outstanding contribution to horticulture at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show when the awards were presented by HRH Princess Alexandra and Elizabeth Banks, President of the RHS .
Hillier Landscapes MD Richard Barnard became an Associate of Honour conferred to no more than 100 persons at any one time who have rendered distinguished services to horticulture.
Richard has encouraged the advancement of landscape practice through his company as well as education and association work. During his career Richard was South West Chairman of British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) and on National Council in the late 70s, a former Governor of Pershore College of Horticulture and is currently Vice Chairman of the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL), an active RHS judge and member of the RHS Show Garden Panel.
The awards were presented by HRH Princess Alexandra and Elizabeth Banks, President of the RHS .
