After a Covid hiatus the Natural Stone Show in London makes a welcome return this year, once again co-locating with the Hard Surfaces exhibition to complete the picture of natural stone and porcelain products used by the landscaping sector.

A lot has happened in the market since the previous exhibitions were live at ExCeL in 2019, so there’s plenty to catch up with. That applies as much to the machinery, tools and consumables used by the sector, which are constantly developing to improve productivity and the performance of finished installations. For example, you will find it hard to believe the cutting speeds achievable by using the latest blades, even when cutting porcelain.

Whether you are a landscape gardener, a contractor, a supplier to or customer of the sector, you will find plenty to interest and surprise you in this fast-growing market.

Why is it growing so rapidly? Because who doesn’t want the look and feel of stone in their garden – for paving, walling and even worktops in the increasingly popular outdoor kitchen areas.

Stone is so popular that the porcelain manufacturers have encompassed its look wholeheartedly, further expanding the market with new and innovative versions of what the planet produces naturally – hence the connection between the two exhibitions at ExCeL.

Natural stone from the UK and overseas will be shown at the Natural Stone Show, along with imported porcelain at Hard Surfaces, giving you an opportunity to meet a wide range of suppliers all under one roof in the UK – now that’s efficiency!

See who is exhibiting at the exhibitions on their websites: www.stoneshow.co.uk and www.hardsurfaces.co.uk.

There is information there about how to get to ExCeL, which is now even more accessible thanks to the opening of the Elizabeth Line rail link that puts central London just a 12-minute ride away. If you’re driving you can park directly under the venue itself, and if you’re flying in from Ireland or mainland Europe, London City Airport, serving more than 30 European hubs, is just a five-minute taxi ride away.

Both exhibitions are also running a full conference programme throughout the three days of the shows with over 50 seminars being presented. Subjects covered will include the new landscaping standard BS 7533 part 101, Code of practice for the installation of pavements constructed with clay, natural stone or concrete paving units surfaced with modular paving.

With the UK now having fully left the European Union, there’s more reason than ever to develop UK and international relationships that start at the Natural Stone Show and Hard Surfaces.
