Saltex 2023

SALTEX 2023 at the NEC, Birmingham this November

With the climate and economy throwing more challenges than ever before at those responsible for keeping our landscapes in top condition learning from others, networking and seeing new innovations has a key role to play.

This is where SALTEX, Europe’s largest free, sports turf, amenities and landscaping trade exhibition can step in. The event delivers a mix of learning and networking opportunities, education and exhibition from 1st to 2nd November, 2023 at the Birmingham NEC.

For anyone managing a landscape – grounds teams, contractors, gardeners or horticulturalists –  this event offers the opportunity to learn from industry’s opinion formers and see new products and services from leading suppliers.

Learning Live

Now in its 77th year SALTEX 2023 will provide the visitor the chance to view over 400 brands in three halls.  Alongside the exhibitors is the Learning LIVE education programme.  Free to attend it provides advice, insight and real solutions to the biggest issues that the grounds management industry faces.  This year, the event will host a series of over 30 sessions enabling visitors to hear directly from industry leaders, technical specialists and experts from across the industry.

Already booked to appear on one of the three themed stages are Dr Kate Entwistle and Dr Deborah Cox who will run an interactive turf disease clinic; with Alex Vickers, Dr Richard Earl and Dr James Welsh running an interactive soil science clinic. Leatherjacket and Chafer Grub control will be tackled by Sean Loakes (Syngenta) and Dr Minshad Ansari (Bionema).  Also tackling a key issue for a growing number of groundscare professionals of ‘Working in a Chemical-free world’ will be Dr Christian Spring and Neil Rodgers from the STRI.

Building networks

Last year’s show brought together over 8,300 visitors from 50 plus countries including the biggest names in the groundscare industry.  Asked why they attended 73 percent of visitors said it was their interest in the industry, 70 percent to source new products, services and suppliers and 46 percent stating that is provides a great opportunity to meet industry colleagues and make new connections – building networks, knowledge and learning about new innovations.

SALTEX 2023 is on track to have one of its biggest years yet as exhibitor demand sees the floor plan for 2023 increase by 20 percent to accommodate bookings.

New recruits

Exhibitors return year after year and are joined this year by first time exhibitors such as

Asecos Limited,  BigChange,  EGHOLM A/S,  FJ Dynamics,  Grundfos  Pumps Ltd,  Hopespare Limited,  Hubscape,  QCR,  Syngenta UK Ltd and  Watermatic Ltd.

Syngenta will use its presence at SALTEX to launch a new integrated insecticide and biological control total approach for leatherjacket and chafer grub soil pests.  Visitors to the Syngenta stand will get a unique detailed understanding of how the products work together from technical specialists and researchers, along with the optimum way to put together more effective and reliable control strategies to counter one of the most complex challenges for turf and landscape management.

The event will also see more of the exciting Syngenta R&D biologicals and products designed for tree care and landscape management, on show for the first time in the UK.

SALTEX devotees

Big industry names also returning to SALTEX include Baroness, Dennis and Sisis, Husqvarna, ICL, Kubota, Ransomes, Reesink UK, Toro and Weibang amongst many others.

The show is organised by the Grounds Management Association – the leading not-for-profit membership organisation representing grounds managers, grounds personnel, grounds maintenance managers, greenkeepers and all others involved in the management of sports turf, pitches, landscape, and amenity facilities in the UK.

The theme for 2023 SALTEX is ‘Boost your Game’ which will see SALTEX focus on providing visitors and exhibitors with all the key tools needed to be successful in the groundscare sector.  Attendees will be supported in boosting their knowledge, career, skills, sales, surface, and network – all of which will result in an industry that is better connected, holds more expertise, and continues to be at the forefront of turfcare around the world.
