Charcon can provide bespoke designs and product specifications for any given SUDS scheme, whilst managing all aspects of installation and offering valuable advice from concept right through to completion.
Bob Russell, Commercial Manager at Charcon told The Landscaper “Each individual SUDS scheme has specific requirements which must be reviewed to ensure that the size and type of water management solution installed will be capable of handling the demands placed upon it by the particular criteria of the site. The right solution is not always straight forward but by adopting the cradle to grave approach when working with developers, we are able to utilise our extensive experience to ensure the appropriate system and products are specified in every application.”
Charcon’s range of products includes the high-strength and high-capacity Permavoid storage units, which can be used as part of a SUDS scheme in conjunction with Charcon PermachannelTM and Charcon Infilta to offer attenuation and infiltration at shallow construction depths.
The multi-function Charcon PermachannelTM product is able to collect and treat run-off water whilst separating oils and silts at the source. The product complies with the criteria stipulated within the SUDS scheme treatment train regulations, as specified in The Environment Agency’s planning policy guidance.
Meanwhile, the Charcon Infilta forms a permeable hard landscaped surface which allows ingress of surface water through to the sub-base water storage system below. A hard wearing concrete block paving product, Charcon Infilta comes in a wide variety of textures and colours and is often used where aesthetics are an important consideration.
Bob added: “Our SUDS solutions are underpinned by high-spec design and technical expertise. We understand the bespoke nature of sustainable water management and have tailored our offering to ensure that our clients are always equipped with the appropriate information to make informed choices about how to tackle the issues at hand.”
