Switch in livery

Wacker-Neuson has announced several model number changes to its line-up of mini excavators as well as a switch in livery from red to yellow following the recent merger of Wacker Construction Equipment AG and Neuson Kramer Baumaschinen.
One of the main reasons for the new model designations is to more accurately match machines to their actual weights in order to avoid confusion. For example, the 1503 now becomes the 1703 and the 1903 becomes the 2003.
In addition, the company has re-named its proven ‘Kippmatic’ design as the Vertical Digging System (VDS) which is now available as an option on the 2003 and 3503 excavators (formerly the 1903 and 3703).
VDS allows the machine’s superstructure to be hydraulically tilted by up to 15 degrees to enable the operator to safely set-up the machine for work on inclines of up to 27%.
This ability to alter the machine’s geometry helps to greatly increase stability when either digging or using an hydraulic breaker on undulating terrain, resulting in improved productivity. The system also reduces the need for expensive and time consuming ground preparation work.
