Greenspace have carried out a survey looking at the impact of last year’s spending review . Around 83% of the 63 authorities which responded to the initial request for feedback are cutting staff as a way of making the required savings, and 60% of the jobs being lost are considered frontline. Most respondents agree that quality standards will fall, and the loss of frontline staff will result in sites failing to meet user needs.
In response to the findings GreenSpace have produced a free pamphlet, not only sharing information from the CABE Space Leaders conference in March, but also a summary of the impact of the Comprehensive Spending Review on the sector.
