New for the grass cutting season of 2009 are ‘Storm’ and ‘Kommand’ series garden tractors from Efco.
The range of 8 different tractors caters for every garden or professional user, offering the choice of rear or side grass discharge, the facility to collect cuttings or not and easy to use controls. Storm tractors offer cutting widths of 96 or 107cm without grass collection while the Kommand machines are available with 76cm and 92cm cutting widths and rear grass collection.
The Storm range is suited to the home gardener with a large or demanding grass cutting requirement. Three of the five models feature the Efco ‘Transmatic’ manual gearbox with 7 forward and reverse gears. Alternatively there are two versions with a hydrostatic transmission which offers progressive speed adjustment via the accelerator. Engines across the Storm range are Briggs and Stratton – 11.5 to 20hp – fitted with the AVS system to guarantee quiet, vibration-free operation.
Twin cutting blades are staggered to prevent accidental blade collision and a perfect cut with blade engagement via a dash mounted lever. The cutting deck features a spring operated raise and lower system. The blade bearings are heavy duty, fully screened and resistant to accidental collisions caused by stones and other hard objects.
Two of the three Kommand tractors offer Transmatic transmission with the top of the range 92/15.5 AM model featuring a fully automatic transmission. The grass collection bags are either 200 or 240 litre in capacity.
All Kommand vehicles are fitted with mulching blades as standard (the mulch plug is optional) and have tow bars.
