BALI Registered Contractor member, ATM has been nominated for the Pollinator Award at the prestigious BIG Biodiversity Challenge Awards 2019, alongside Highways England and Kier.
The nomination is in recognition of the A38 Devon – Ivybridge to Ashburton project Turning A Roads into Bee Routes project. The scheme aims to increase habitat connectivity by linking species rich grasslands, sustain and increase pollinator populations and other invertebrates whilst increasing the resilience of terrestrial wildlife for the long-term.
ATM’s Managing Director, Clive Freeman says: “We were delighted to be part of the Delivery Team that carried out this exciting Biodiversity project. ATM is committed to protecting and enhancing biodiversity to provide a lasting legacy for future generations’.

With 75+ entries across eight categories plus nominees for the BIG Biodiversity Champion Award, the judging panel at BIG Biodiversity had a tough task to narrow down this year’s shortlist. All category winners, the overall winner and the BIG Biodiversity Champion will be announced at an Awards ceremony on 12th September at the Hallam Conference Centre, London.
Peter Dorans, Corporate Relations Manager, The Wildlife Trusts and 2019 Judging Panel membersays: “Choosing a winner from so many inspiring entries gets more challenging each year. Everyone should be able to experience the joy of wildlife in their daily lives, so it was great to see so many projects which are integrating natural spaces into the places where people live, work and play. We’re all better off when our lives are a little bit wild and I’m looking forward to seeing more projects focussed on peoples’ wellbeing as the awards and the industry’s approach to wildlife continue to evolve”.
