Fifty One BALI members out of 77 who entered over 100 entries have won awards in this year’s BALI National Landscape Awards in association with Horticulture Week and headline sponsor Rigby Taylor.
However, not until the awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London on Friday 5thDecember will they know who has won a Principal Award, Special Award or the coveted Grand Award. Tickets for the ceremony are now on sale.
The Adjudication panel, chaired by Greg Allen, Senior Lecturer in Landscape Studies at Writtle College and dispute adjudicator, spent the summer visiting the shortlisted schemes and met at the end of August to agree the list of winners. Commenting on this year’s entries, Greg said:
BALI’s Chief Operations Officer Wayne Grills, who was an observer during the final adjudication, expressed his delight in the increase of entrants awarded this year and paid tribute to the judges who have given each entry their full commitment and consideration:
“The standard of entries submitted this year has been phenomenal. As an observer it is a privilege to see these industry experts at work as they judge the entries. Their depth of industry knowledge, their understanding of the challenges presented by different schemes, and their unshakeable determination to only reward excellence, regardless of the effort and good intentions displayed by the contractor, is laudable. We are, as always, indebted to each and every one of them for their dedication to the task.”
