The owners of a new turf and topsoil website are amazed at the level of sales achieved in the first quarter of 2016.
“We’ve smashed our targets, especially on topsoil sales and are continuing to trade strongly as the season progresses.” Says Director Paul Watt. “Our strengths lie in having a reliable supply chain and automated systems. That way we don’t need to hire admin staff, we can keep our prices low.” The website at went “live” in October 2015 and services trade and domestic customers throughout the UK. “It’s attracting quite a lot of repeat business” says Paul, “we’re trading with landscapers and garden centres as well as with the general public. It’s quite flattering to think that people are happy enough with our quality and service to come back to us when they need another delivery.”
The Directors, run a tight ship and have built strong relationships with growers, suppliers and hauliers. “It’s no good promising one thing and doing another” says Paul. “That doesn’t help anyone. It’s great to be able to take some of the pressure off landscapers who just don’t have time to get quotes and chase deliveries. We constantly check prices against our competitors and we completely trust our hauliers to do their job properly. It seems to be working.”
