Bulldog Tools is the only factory still manufacturing solid forged Garden Spades and Forks in the United Kingdom. They have exhibited in Eastern Avenue at the Chelsea Flower Show for the past five years. This year they are designing a Show Feature in the Grand Pavilion.
They will be working with Jon Wheatley and Mary Payne MBE, a partnership that has seen gold medal results in recent years.
Set in the 1940’s the garden tells the story of a self sufficient Blacksmith making tools for his local community and growing his own vegetables, in an era that saw hundreds of similar small enterprises all over the country. Planting around the forge will include a vegetable garden, ornamental planting and a more informal area including native species.
On Press Day, the forge will be manned by our own Bulldog forge workers, who work at the forge on a daily basis at our factory in Wigan, England.
