The FIFA U-17 World Cup 2009 is a showcase for the world’s most promising young footballing talent, with 24 teams battling it out over eight match venues in the host nation of Nigeria.
UK sports equipment manufacturer Harrod UK have been invited to showcase their own latest talent, after being called upon to supply goal posts and team shelters to the event.
50 sets of Wembley specification football goals, net supports and nets were flown to Nigeria for the event, along with 40 team shelters for the substitutes and 20 officials’ shelters, all of which were from the Premier Curved Aluminium Shelter range, the company’s most recent addition to its extensive product portfolio.
Sales & Marketing Manager Kevin Utton told The Landscaper “We were thrilled to get the call asking us to supply the event. To be able to launch our new team shelter range at such a prestigious event on the international stage is a fantastic achievement for our entire staff. Tight deadlines were involved in meeting the delivery requirements, and it is testament to the dedication of our workforce that the order was fulfilled quickly and successfully.”
