Pop up exhibition featuring urban furniture

All Urban, suppliers of urban furniture and lighting to the landscape industry,  recently hosted its first pop-up exhibition at the Sheffield Botanical Gardens. The event was to help landscaping and architectural practices adapt ecologically friendly landscaping schemes to combat the effects of climate change.

The event hosted an itinerary of industry talks by experts themed on how to create ecologically friendly landscaping schemes in an urban environment. Landscape architects and urban planners from around the country attended to listen to marketing-leading supplier talks and to take a guided tour of All Urban’s product exhibition curated around the gardens.

Dr. Ross Cameron, Senior Lecturer of Landscape Management, Ecology and Design from the University of Sheffield held an open discussion on climate change. He offered helpful tips such as using plant groups that can withstand the increased temperatures.

Jeff Sorrill from Green Estates CIC presented on green roofs and gave practical advice on how to successfully introduce plants onto buildings.

Lighting Consultant Brian Healy concluded with an informative presentation on how to create ecologically friendly lighting schemes, as the same time addressing the misconceptions about the affects of blue LED lighting.

All Urban’s leading suppliers, such as Santa & Cole Urbidermis, were also on hand to showcase their  products as a sustainable choice for long-term, low-maintenance hardscaping in the public realm. Large scale sculpture company Moveart announced a new technique used to incorporate the public space’s landscape characteristics into the form of the play sculpture design. In addition outdoor litter bin company FinBin attended to explain how its sustainable next-generation smart bin worked and wood sculptures Handspring Design showcased an impressive catalogue of bespoke timber projects.

“We are really pleased with the successes of our first pop-up exhibition which demonstrates that we are more than just a landscaping product supplier,” says Gerry McGee, Sales Director of All Urban. “We will continue to deliver projects that educate, inform and help the landscaping industry to tackle modern challenges. All the talks from the event will be made accessible via the All Urban Youtube channel and we welcome the industry to watch and share them.
