Marshalls celebrates Register member success
Marshalls has again celebrated the quality and workmanship of its accredited landscape contractors at its prestigious annual award ceremony.
The Marshalls Register Awards held at Rookery Hall, Cheshire on Monday 16th March, celebrated the very best garden and driveway projects designed and installed in 2014 by members of Marshalls’ national accredited Register scheme.
Mike Long of Genesis Landscapes, based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk was crowned ‘Marshalls Contractor of the Year’ after scooping the category top prize for ‘Best Engineering Achievement’ and was presented with a brand new Toyota Hilux pickup truck and a stone trophy.
Genesis Landscapes also received a highly commended award for ‘Best Patio Transformation over 35m²’.
This year, for the first time, all the award finalists were able to cast their vote for the 11 category winners and their overall contractor of the year through an anonymous online poll.
The national awards attracted over 600 project submissions from 240 accredited landscape contractors and driveway installers from Marshalls’ nationwide network of members.
Mike said: “I am delighted to have been voted the overall winner by my fellow landscaping professionals on the Marshalls Register. It really does mean a lot to me that my hard work has been recognised by the best in the business.
“I thank Marshalls for their support and for my brand new Toyota Hilux which I will drive with pride.”
David Jessop, Operations Manager of the Marshalls Register said: “Huge congratulations must go to Mike and his team. The winning project was absolutely stunning and really has the ‘wow’ factor. The standard this year was the highest yet and so it really is a fantastic achievement.
