Developed for hedge planting and small-scale landscaping schemes where collection at end of life may be difficult or impractical, Nature Easysleevè is said to provide cost-effective, early-stage protection while naturally biodegrading in situ.
It offers a lightweight, practical solution for slender plants used in hedgerows and similar planting environments, supplier Tubex states. “The shelters are expected to perform for up to three years, supporting survival and establishment during the most vulnerable early stages of growth.”
The shelters are made from a bio-based material blend derived from plant and vegetable sources. The material has been independently tested to demonstrate biodegradability both on soil and in soil at ambient temperatures, breaking down over time through a natural microbiological process, Tubex adds. It has also been tested against OECD 207 and 208 and is non-toxic, supporting use in environmentally sensitive planting schemes.

Their twin-wall design creates a protective microclimate around young plants while maintaining strength and stability. Available in 0.6 m and 0.75 m heights, Nature Easysleeve is supplied nested for efficient transportation and storage.
With smaller diameters than standard tree shelters, the product suits hedge planting and light landscaping applications, where easy install and less material weight are key factors. The shelters are installed using a bamboo cane for support and do not require fixing ties, so can be deployed on site quickly.

There’s growing demand for biodegradable tree protection solutions where retrieval and recycling are not feasible, Tubex reports. The shelters complement the Tubex Nature range, offering land managers, contractors and planting organisations a broader choice of protection options based on site access, planting scale and end-of-life considerations.
