Spring clean

Capel Manor College’s big spring clean was good news for Tools Shed, the garden tool recycling programme which The Conservation Foundation runs with HMP Wandsworth.

The Foundation’s Director David Shreeve collected the tools gathered from Capel Manor’s six London study centres from Joseph Watson and Sarah Neophytou at the Gunnersbury campus.

Once the tools have been spruced up in the workshops at Wandsworth Prison, they will be given to schools and community groups for their gardens later in the spring.

“The School of Horticulture fully supports this excellent initiative,” said Tom Cole, Capel Manor Head of Horticulture. “It’s so good to see that in time, and once in fully operational order by HM Prison Wandsworth, these tools will see some action again. A marvellous way of linking people together so that schools can benefit from them in the future.”
