Kubota has presented its latest Grand L40-Series, The range includes five models with a choice of ROPS or air-conditioned cab, three transmissions and numerous tyre sizes, so there is a Grand L40 tractor to match any task.
At the heart of the Grand L40 series is Kubota’s renowned E-TVCS (Three Vortex Combustion System) water cooled diesel engine which provides increased air flow into the combustion chamber to produce greater power, efficiency and cleaner emissions.
Delivering unrivalled power output and complying with Stage III A European Emission regulations, these state-of-the-art engines are low on fuel consumption, noise and vibration enhancing both comfort and overall productivity.
Models are the 37hp L3540, 44hp L4240, 52hp L5040, 54hp L5240 and 59hp L5740, representing an excellent range of horsepowers for tasks such as aeration and decompaction, seeding and topdressing, handling high capacity mowers and of course, towing and loading. The Grand L40-Series can be fitted with dedicated fore-end loaders offering outstanding lift capacity and lift height as well as fast loading cycles.
Transmission options include the 16×16 FST fully synchronised mechanical system on the L3540. L4240 and L5040, offering smooth shifts on the move and easy directional changes via a shuttle lever, ideal for loader work or making light work of manoeuvring at the end of the green.
Glide Shift Transmission (GST) can be specified on the 52hp L5040, giving 24×16 speeds and clutchless shifting for more demanding operations.
Kubota’s brand new HST Plus transmission is featured on the two top of the range models, the L5240 and L5740, using advanced technology to make operating a tractor as easy as driving a car.
In addition to three range shift speeds, HST Plus includes a lever to shift between high and low speeds in each range, expanding the options to six total speeds. A mode selection button activates Auto H-DS for automatic high/low shifting, ideal for jobs such as loading.
Optimum versatility for such a wide range of groundcare applications is enhanced by the ability to tailor the HST plus transmission to the operator’s needs: HST response control allows a fast or slow response to be set to match the task in hand, for example to give the gradual response needed for turf renovations.
Load sensing mode selection allows the operator to select a mode to suit his workload, incorporating Stall Guard to keep the tractor moving smoothly even when towing heavy loads on steep ground.
Auto throttle advance links the HST pedal to the engine throttle, simplifying operation and helping to reduce fuel consumption, making this one of the most economical tractors in its class.
A deluxe three-point linkage with quick hitch as standard and independent pto makes light work of operating a wide range of attachments. Lift capacity of up to 1750kg at the link ends allows the most productive implements on the market to be used.
The Grand L40 also offers a superb operator environment. Its integrated cab features air conditioning as standard with internal and external air ventilation, plus a comfortable seat and plenty of legroom. The ROPS on smaller models is ideal where the operator needs to dismount frequently or where headroom is restricted. Kubota’s renowned digital Intellipanel keeps all functions and settings at the operator’s fingertips, and a new column-type combination switch operates lights and indicators for safer road travel.
To tackle serious workloads with efficiency and total comfort, Kubota’s Grand L40-Series is the perfect partner.
